Job Description:

During instances where store management is unavailable, this role steps in to kickstart and wrap up store proceedings, which involve launching necessary systems, supervising cash handling procedures, and ensuring the readiness of the sales floor and storage area for daily functionality. Furthermore, responsibilities include unlocking the backdoor to facilitate deliveries and executing tasks like handling product returns, voiding orders, processing customer refunds, securing cash drops in the safe, and furnishing change for cash registers as necessary. The primary objective is to exemplify and provide an exceptional and enjoyable customer service experience.

Roles and Duties:

  • Initiates customer and patient interaction by welcoming them and providing assistance with products and services. Resolves customer issues and responds to inquiries to enhance the overall customer experience.
  • Serves as a model and distributes customer service best practices among team members to deliver a remarkable and delightful customer experience, emphasizing interpersonal skills like greetings, eye contact, courtesy, and incorporating Walgreens' service traits such as offering proactive help, recognizing needs, and ensuring satisfaction through service.
  • Tasked with the duty of holding store keys to autonomously conduct opening and closing operations without the presence of management.
  • Guides and mentors team members in overseeing warehouse operations and vendor ordering system, from the creation to the confirmation and acceptance of orders, as well as facilitating vendor deliveries by unlocking the rear entrance.
  • Having the responsibility and accountability to register all relevant sales using the designated cash register, which involves keeping track of scanning discrepancies, verifying prices, documenting unrecognized items, adjusting prices, and voiding transactions.
  • Assists the manager or assistant store manager by examining order discrepancies on order release day and contributing to reverse logistics activities like processing returns and empty package management.
  • Contributes to evaluating and enhancing displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise, under the direction of the manager or assistant store manager. Manages resets and revisions proficiently.
  • - Preserves correct inventory assessments; guarantees the precision of on-hand amounts in primary categories, storage compartments, and supplementary stock sites.
  • Assist in overseeing that team members are following the Outdate program accordingly.
  • Handles the essential aspects of department pricing, such as making daily price changes and ensuring the accurate display of signage to uphold correct product pricing. Also accountable for completing any extra pricing responsibilities connected to local regulations and compliance programs with accuracy and within the designated timeframe.
  • Provide assistance with financial tracking responsibilities, such as cash summaries, cash audits, financial logs, and processing invoices when necessary or as instructed.
  • Aids in the cleanliness and organization of the store's interior and exterior, ensuring a well-kept and orderly appearance while addressing repair needs in the manager's absence or upon the manager's instructions.
  • Implements proper product placement strategies as outlined in policies, such as storing raw and frozen meats on lower shelves.
  • Understands how to operate store systems and equipment effectively.
  • I can provide assistance at the pharmacy drive-thru as requested.
  • Verifies that compliance with state and regional statutes pertaining to controlled goods such as alcohol and tobacco is maintained.
  • Responsible for ensuring team members undergo bag inspections before exiting the store.
  • Abides by all company policies and protocols; nurtures harmonious relationships with coworkers.
  • Carries through with special assignments and other designated tasks.

Training:

  • Completes the PPLs as required by the Manager following attendance at relevant training sessions.
  • Secures and keeps proper PTCB certification or pharmacy license in accordance with state requirements.
  • Operates as an intermediary between superiors and non-managerial staff by instructing employees on allocated tasks when store management is not present.

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate should possess one year of prior experience in a leadership, supervisory, or retail key holder capacity.
  • Fluency in English reading, writing, and oral expression is necessary, except for individuals in Puerto Rico.
  • Favor familiarity with managing store inventory.
